Outside of the local area, Dr. Silverman has traveled abroad to share his expertise with doctors in underprivileged countries.

From the standpoint of community service, Dr. Silverman is a founding member of the nationally renowned Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., a school that enables visually challenged individuals to lead independent lives with dignity. His desire to “give back” to the community also resulted in The Eye Associates’ Sight Mobile, which provides free distance vision and glaucoma screenings.

Dr. Harris Silverman founded The Eye Associates in 1980. Under his leadership and dedication, The Eye Associates has grown to five locations with Board Certified Ophthalmologists and Optometrists; Licensed Opticians; a Master Optician; and a staff of over 130.

Dr. Silverman is married to Micheline, a CPA and successful real estate developer. They have two children.

Dr. Hector joined The Eye Associates in 1986 after serving his country in the military for over 10 years. Dr. Hector specializes in diseases of the external eye and cornea, including corneal transplants and troublesome dry eye syndrome. Dr. Mark DiSclafani, affectionately known as Dr. “D” to his patients, joined The Eye Associates in August of 1989. Patients often comment about his caring manner and willingness to share his vast knowledge in terms that are easily understood. Intent on spending the time needed, Dr. D treats each and every patient as he would his own family.

Dr. D specializes in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment as well as cataract surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Eye Surgery, and has been published more than six times in publications that include Annals for Ophthalmology and the American Journal of Ophthalmology. While in medical school, Dr. DiSclafani received the Mecke, Sharpe & Dohme Award for academic excellence.

In addition to his work at The Eye Associates, Dr. DiSclafani serves the community by donating his time and expertise to the Manatee County Public Health Unit, where he provides free medical and surgical services to deserving patients.

Dr. DiSclafani is married with a daughter and a son. He enjoys fishing, golf, and playing the guitar in his spare time. He also competes in the sport of triathlon.

Dr. Manning, who joined The Eye Associates team in 2007, brings with him the highest and most up to date level of training and knowledge. Dr. Manning, who is from the Florida area, graduated Cum Laude from Rollins College in Winter Park. He then went on to the University of South Florida for both his Medical Doctorate and Internship. He continued his education to specialize in Ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Manning has won many honors from the academic community, and as an active participate in research, he has given presentations at national and international meetings and co-authored publications. Dr. Jeffrey Kasper serves as one of The Eye Associates’ two fellowship-trained retina specialists. His areas of specialty include retinal laser surgery, diabetic eye diseases and macular degeneration. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Kasper received his undergraduate degree from the Georgetown University College of Arts and Sciences in Washington, D.C. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, also in Washington, D.C. While at Georgetown, he was awarded the prestigious Lorenz Zimmerman, M.D. Award, which is presented to the most outstanding student of ophthalmology. He served his ophthalmology residency and internship at the Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and continued on to complete a Medical and Surgical Retina Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

He then went on to get his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University, where he graduated in the top 10 of his class. Dr. Camp joined The Eye Associates in December of 1997 and now is one of The Eye Associates senior Optometrists.

Dr. Camp is married to his wife Ursula; they have one son, Noah. He has lived and worked in East Manatee County since 1995. Dr. Camp enjoys family, baseball, motorcycling, and home projects.

She brings with her a unique set of skills and expertise in providing much needed eyecare for people unable to venture out. As a board certified optometrist, Dr. Johnson provides exceptional optometric care within the convenience of the resident’s own surroundings. With the use of portable equipment and a selection of frames, she is able to examine eyes for glasses and disease, and provide eyeglasses.

Dr. Johnson’s caring manner and exceptional patience, paired with her quick smile, brightens up her patients’ lives. She knows that vision plays a role in increasing mental well being as well as safety, thereby, preventing falls. She feels that her mobile vision service is especially important for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. For those individuals who may not be able to communicate well, eye exams can alert families of problems that could cause them discomfort.

In her off hours, Dr. Johnson is a hospice volunteer. She finds personal satisfaction in assisting individuals and families in need.

Former Beverly Hills Cosmetic and Ophthalmic Surgeon, Dr. Prabin Mishra, joined The Eye Associates in September of 2007. Dr. Mishra has had extensive experience in the field of cosmetic surgery, and brings with him a gentle manner, enhanced skill level and eye for perfection that impresses both patients and staff. Soft spoken, Dr. Mishra listens to each patient’s concerns, and plans his treatment according to their wishes.

Dr. Mishra offers the highly popular Botox injections and dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm, Restylane, Radiesse, and Perlane, as well as the sight and appearance enhancing eyelid surgery, known as blepharoplasty. He has also gained national prominence in the area of micro auto fat transfers for facial rejuvenation, and is one of the few surgeons in the country performing eyelash transplants.

Dr. Mishra is an ophthalmologist, fellowship trained cosmetic surgeon, and Board Certified in Anti-Aging Medicine. Born in India, he initially studied in Europe and Canada before receiving his Ph.D. at Cornell University. Dr. Mishra then continued on to Michigan State University for his medical degree, and his residency in Ophthalmology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He earned his Fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery from the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and its Aesthetic Rejuvenation Center of Beverly Hills, where he later practiced.

David Bracciano, DO

Dr. Bracciano is one of the few Dermatologists nationwide to also be Board Certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Facial Plastic Surgery. His high level of expertise comes from his passion for his patients, and wanting to give them most comprehensive care available.

Dr. Bracciano completed all of his schooling in his home state of Michigan, including his bachelor’s degree at Oakland University, and his medical degree at Michigan State University. He completed his internship at Mt. Clemens General Hospital in Mt. Clemens, MI, and his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Johns Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, MI. He went on to complete another residency in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Flint MI. He completed his residency in Dermatology at Michigan State University, Genesys Regional Medical Center, in Grand Blanc, MI. After his Postdoctoral training, Dr. Bracciano spent ten years in private practice in Michigan, during which he also served as Chief of Staff at Huron Medical Center. He is active in teaching medical students and other physicians as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University and at LECOM in Bradenton.

He and his wife, along with their three children, moved from Michigan to the Gulf Coast of Florida, making this past vacation favorite their new home.

Jill Heringhaus is a medical professional known for an easy smile that quickly puts surgery patients at ease. She understands the natural anxiety that comes with any type of medical procedure, and makes a special effort to answer all questions so patients feel confident and calm.

She started out with a dream of being a nurse that quickly grew to a desire to do more. She obtained her Associates of Science in Nursing from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, and then continued on to the University of South Florida where she received her Bachelor and Masters of Science in Nursing. Jill is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner that works with the doctors at The Eye Associates in pre-certifying patients for surgery as well as assisting in cosmetic surgical procedures.

Jill truly cares about her patients as demonstrated by her entry into the world of beauty and permanent make-up. She saw a need among patients who could not see well, and those with medical conditions such as Parkinson’s and chemotherapy-induced hair loss. She felt it was important for a woman’s self-esteem to look her best, and she knew that her patients would feel better going to a safe, medical setting for their permanent make-up. That’s when she decided to go back to school to learn how to provide this beneficial cosmetic service for her patients.
