Residency Trained Optometrist
Dr. Rego graduated with honors from the University of California with a Bachelor of Science degree in neurobiology, physiology, and behavior. Following that, he continued on to Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he also graduated in the top 10 in his class with honors with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He continued his education by completing an accredited residency in geriatrics and low vision also at Nova Southeastern. During his residency, he received the Resident of the Year Award granted by the students for his outstanding teaching style. He is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society, and received special recognition for his patient care in low vision during all four years at Nova.
Following his residency, Dr. Rego went on to become a full-time faculty member at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. He also received the award of Preceptor of the Year, again granted by the students for the one faculty member they felt demonstrated exemplary teaching skills and patient care.
