Michael Lewis, M.D.

Dr. Michael Lewis began his medical training at the renowned St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Indiana University, where he was involved in numerous eye health research efforts. These efforts led to a practice focused on cataract surgery and oculoplastic surgery.

He is a skilled cataract and eyelid surgeon specializing in blepharoplasty, the repair of droopy eyelids and bags under the eyes, and related problems associated with aging.

Dr. Lewis performs the SmartLens® procedure on his cataract patients in an effort to free them from their dependence on eyeglasses. He uses a variety of intraocular lenses and the latest technology to ensure patients have their best possible vision.

Dr. Lewis came from a rather big family. He is the oldest with two younger sisters and two younger brothers, and the only one that went into medicine, in the footsteps of their great grandfather. Dr. Lewis and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters that keep him busy in his free time.

In his free time, Dr. Lewis loves sailing and tries to accomplish as much sailing as he can muster. He has sailed in the Pacific in 30 foot waves and river piloted down the Columbia river and across the infamous Columbia river bar. One of the most dangerous stretches of water in the world!
