Dr. Foster is a skilled and competent surgeon, and has nice bedside manner. I recently had ICL (implantable collamer lens) surgery performed by him, and I am very pleased with the results. I was previously highly myopic, and now I have 20/20 vision. Only surprise was that now I suddenly need reading glasses, which I never did before. I was hoping to have a few years in between with no glasses at all. However, I find the communication skills of his office staff to be disappointingly lacking.Nobody called me the day before surgery to tell me my time. They didn't tell me ahead of time, (which would have been considerate) and told me they would call the day before. They did not. So, I called the office. For a long time, no one answered. When I finally spoke to someone, she had no information for me. All she said was, "they start making the schedule at 3, and they'll call you before 5." They did not. Then after five, the office was closed, and all there was was a useless answering service. This was very frustrating and stressful for me.They didn't email me either with my arrival time and instructions. I know they have my correct email address, because they have emailed me a bill, which I have paid in full. (Their communication is great when they're asking for money.)I have logged into the "patient portal," and they haven't uploaded the information there, either. I'm not sure what the "patient portal" is even for.
